Alternatives For Gynecomastia Reduction

If you’ve got gynecomastia and you don’t want to end up depressed and permanently miserable about your appearance, then a proper progam of gynecomastia reduction is what’s required.

Now, man boobs or gynecomastia as it's clinically known, is a surprisingly common condition. It is estimated that up to forty percent of males suffer from it to some extent. It’s very much an estimate though, as the vast majority of sufferers never show up at a doctor’s surgery or clinic to discuss the problem so numbers are difficult to come by.

The condition is quite benign, meaning it's harmless and won't affect your health in any way, so if you have only mild gynecomastia, then if it doesn't trouble you in any way, then it's probably not worth worrying about gynecomastia reduction programs. See the other articles on this site about what causes it and whether gynecomastia reduction is for you.

But if you have obvious man boobs and it is affecting your life, then you certainly need to deal with the problem. Any dissatisfaction with our body image can be depressing and lead to psychological problems. This is particularly so because of the sexual dimension of the problem. Breasts belong to women, not men, so if you’re a man and you have them, even small ones, it’s bound to impact on our feelings of masculinity.

Realistically there are three options open to you.

a) Surgery. Personally I wouldn't recommend gynecomastia reduction surgery because it's expensive (upwards of $3000), it's invasive and, although it is a comparatively small operation, any surgery always comes with a risk. In my book, if you don't have a real and pressing medical need for surgery, then don't have it. Period.

b) Drugs. There are drugs on the market that are supposed to help with gynecomastia reduction but they’re expensive, unreliable and can have unpleasant side effects such as nausea and drowsiness. In my view they’re unnecessary. I wouldn’t take any drug unless it was unavoidable.

c) A specially developed program of diet, targeted exercise and hormone regulation that, if followed properly, can help you kickstart your gynecomastia reduction within about six to eight weeks.

I'd definitely plump for option c) - it is a lot (a lot!) cheaper and it will be much more satisfying to be able to say you turned your life round by yourself, without going under the knife. Sure, it will take some effort and willpower on your part to complete your gynecomastia reduction, but nothing worth having ever came without a bit of effort did it?
